wedding wrap-up
I am a little later than I expected to be with this post, but the wedding wrap up is finally ready! I got all of the pictures ready and already posted them on Facebook. So here is the official wedding wrap up.
Bert is my cousin and close friend and Leah is his long time girlfriend and my best friend. Leah and I became friends when she stepped in as a bridesmaid in my wedding when just a few weeks before the wedding I had a friend back out. Bert and I have always been pretty close and so Leah and I spent a lot of time together, especially when I moved closer to them a few years ago. When Sean got sick, being the awesome people that they are, Bert and Leah moved in with us to help out. They really made those last few months bearable and actually made the time more enjoyable and seem not as bad as it was. While they were living with us, Bert told us he was going to ask Leah to marry him. We were so stoked about that and they did indeed get engaged on vacation the night before Sean passed away here in Baltimore. Needless to say, these two people are very near and dear to me.
Their wedding was last Saturday, June 20th, and it was fantastic. The whole weekend was jam packed with fun and festivities. Friday night was the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner at the Nistico’s. It was a nice summer night and we had a great time hanging out with everyone enjoying good food and yummy sangria that Brandie made. Saturday started off rainy, really rainy, but we all made it to the salon without being too soggy! We spent a few hours at the salon while everyone got their hair done and got all dolled up. After the salon we headed to Leah’s parents house to get our makeup done and get dressed. It was such a laid back morning and a perfect way to start the day. After all of this, it was time to head to the church for the big show! Here are pictures from the rehearsal, dinner and the rest of the pre-wedding festivities…
The wedding ceremony was held at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and was so nice. Leah was a gorgeous bride! Breathtaking, even. There were tears, there was laughter (especially when the groom’s brother, the best man’s, phone went off during the ceremony!), there were lots of warm and fuzzy feelings. After the ceremony, we headed to the beautiful Boumi Temple for the reception. That place is unbelievable! The reception was a giant fantastic party. It was so awesome, lots of drinks, like the signature X-ray-tini and the Blue Crab Martini, and TONS of dancing! The night wrapped up and a bunch of us headed to Della Roses for some more food and drinks and hanging out. The wedding was amazing and I could not be happier for Bert and Leah. Here are the rest of the pictures of a wonderful day!
